Tijdens de 24 Uur van Spa-Francorchamps in 1986 nam de BMW 635 CSi met nummer 16 deel, ingezet door het CiBiEmme Sport-team. Het team bestond uit de Belgische coureurs Pascal Witmeur, Jean-Michel Martin en Eric van de Poele. Helaas moest de wagen de race vroegtijdig staken en bereikte de finish niet. Dit illustreert de onvoorspelbaarheid en uitdaging van endurance races, waar zelfs ervaren teams en coureurs te maken kunnen krijgen met technische problemen of andere tegenslagen die hen dwingen zich terug te trekken.
